Massage gives us the opportunity to become more balanced as we release stress in our bodies and become more aware of how we feel. It is natural for us to stop avoiding the tension we build up inside our muscular system and give it permission to relax as our therapist works the muscles with massage. Each cell in our body wants to be in balance. As we receive massage we give ourselves the space and time to get there.
Hannah Baker LMT completed her massage therapy education through Lane Community College (LCC) in 2007. When asked about LCC massage therapy program Hannah's response was, "It was a great program full of insightful instructors who really cared about teaching us to be present during our sessions bringing all our knowledge to the table. They were thorough in teaching us Kinesiology related to massage and body mechanics, including deepening our understanding of the importance of massage." Hannah also received her associates in general arts degree from Southwestern Oregon Community College and continues her education in massage and bodywork.
Growing up in North Bend and Coos Bay has allowed Hannah to enjoy being active outdoors. She loves hiking, swimming, kayaking, group fitness classes, biking, running, and gardening with her family.
Looking for a way to release all the stress you have been building up within your body? Has your body been sending you signals to do something about it? If so, relax, you have come to the right place.
Massage is a wonderful tool humanity had used for centuries to help us find balance again. Hannah has a deep respect for massage therapy and the professionalism that practitioners have brought to the table in the last couple of decades. The conventional medical field has been growing so fast. It has finally reached the understanding that complementary and alternative therapies have an important role in health care. More and more insurance companies are covering CAM costs because of the positive feedback from health care practitioners and clients who have experienced the benefits themselves.
There are over 78 techniques that fall within a massage therapist's scope. Oregon is one of the few states that have built strict laws and regulations for massage therapy. This is perceived as a wonderful benefit to making sure massage therapists licensed in Oregon have a minimum two year certification with required continuing education hours every two years after licensing.
